April 8, dinner. Some cheeses. This was very Trader Joe's but still good. The apricot-and-whatever in cheddar was not great, but you have to work hard to destroy goat cheese---and they didn't.
April 8, dessert. Some more snacks. A little brownie thing.
April 8, snack. Ferrero Rocher. At the warehouse. I had three of them. The dark ones are good. Quite good.
April 8, dinner. Fajitas, only not good. Very, very not good.
April 8, dinner. Bread pudding. This was not good. It wasn't bad, but it tasted a lot like bread and not much like bread pudding.
April 9, Breakfast. Currant scone and a cappuccino from Peet's in Belmont.
April 9, lunch. A rib. Good.
April 9, lunch. They brought in a chocolate fountain. Really, precious, except that the chocolate wasn't that good. And what was left mostly was marshmallows. Who thinks this crap up? The Warehouse, Belmont.
April 9, snack. A carrot. Actually, I think I had two or three.
April 9, snack. Corn nuts, in the warehouse.
April 10, breakfast. Peet's cappuccino and a berry scone. Berry good.
April 10, dinner. At Lynn & John's place. Wonderful, outstandingly fantastic chicken crepes in a poblano cream sauce, rice, and a corn/carrot (carrot?) vegetable. Incredibly good.
April 10, dessert. At Lynn and John's house. Fresh whipped cream, fresh tangerines, and a light cake. Yummy.
Lunch, April 11. Lamb Shank at Faz in Sunnyvale Sheraton. Not bad at all. You don't get them very often, and this one was good. Not as much sauce as I would have wanted. But very tasty nonetheless.
April 11, Left Bank. Fondue appetizer.
April 11, dinner. Lamb chops. Very tasty. Left Bank, Menlo Park. I'm just on a lamb kick today.
April 12, breakfast. Home again. Cappuccino and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. Courtesy of Jan.
April 12, dinner. Pesto. Jan's Italian parsley in the garden was going crazy, so I made pesto of it, almonds, parm & romano cheeses, and served it over gemelli pasta. Very tasty. The champagne was a Cliquot, and the wine was an Amarone from 1993 that we found in Sunnyvale.
April 13, breakfast. Cappuccino (iced) and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. The usual.
April 13, breakfast. We got these pistachio wafers at Ferraris and I wanted to taste them to see if they would go with ice cream. They do. Really, really well.
April 13, lunch. Fresh salad fresh picked from Jan's garden.
April 13, Dinner. Baby back ribs, Joel's recipe. Cole slaw made from Jan's garden cabbage. The wine was a fruity Opolo Mountain Zin.
April 14, breakfast. The usual, plus fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice.
April 14, lunch. DDP & Tiff came over and we went out to Taqueria Lupita's for lunch. This is one wicked good taqueria, and has a great menu. Start with palate deadening chips and salsa.
April 14, lunch. Taqueria Lupita's. Two mole, and two carnitas. Both excellent.
April 14, dinner. Jan is gone, so I'm eating leftover baby back ribs.
April 15, breakfast. Tax day. Raging Sage blueberry scone and iced cappuccino. Outside on the patio. Very pleasant.
April 15, dinner. Tavolino in Tucson. Outstanding new Italian place. I ate a piece of this bread, against my better judgement, but it was good.
April 15, dinner. Tavolino. Tiff and I split the Raviola di Zucca and this prosciutto-wrapped duck breast. Outstanding. We had two wines (wasn't just Tiff: Joe Fico & DDP were there as well!), including a nice Amarone and a Sangiovese.
April 15, caffè. At Tavolino.
