May 14, dessert. A cheese plate with four cheeses: Rossa di Langa (cow/sheep from Italy, the star of the plate), a Vermont Cabot Cheddar, Ewe-F-O (get it?), a very nice Californian sheep's milk cheese, and Roaring Forties, a Tasmanian blue. Almonds, dates, ruby port. Outstanding finish. Aria, Atlanta.

May 15, breakfast. At the Perimeter Marriott (conveniently located next to the Perimeter Mall, Atlanta). Bagel, grapefruit juice, and some coffee.

May 15, lunch. Plate-o-Meat and cheese, Marriott. Atlanta.

May 15, lunch dessert. A slice of cake. Not worth the calories. Looked good, but failed to deliver on the promise. Perimeter Marriott, Atlanta.

May 15, dinner. A beer. Paschal's, in the Atlanta Airport. Best food in the Atlanta Aiport, and I've eaten in every single outlet there.

May 15, dinner. Ahhh. Fried chicken, done perfectly, of good chicken. Red beans, greens, and some muffins. Cole slaw on the side. Paschal's, Atlanta Airport, best food there!

May 15, Dinner. Cole slaw at Paschal's. Not the best item in the dinner.

May 15, snack. Crackers aboard flight Atlanta-to-Tucson.

May 15, late night snack with Jan. Half of this was mine: goat milk brie, some Stilton, and a bit of Tallegio. Along with some old port.

May 16, Breakfast. The usual.

May 16, snack. Some unsalted pistachios. Pistachios should be salted. Really.

May 16, lunch. At a taqueria on South Sixth Avenue in Tucson. Shrimp tacos, fried. Outstanding.

May 16, dessert. This was actually MaryAnn's dessert, but I had a bite out of it. Vanilla ice cream, atop shaved ice and macerated strawberries. Really, really good. Really.

May 16, dinner. Late night Zemam's after a bad night of fighting firewall problems.

May 17, breakfast. The usual. Burmese monks in the news.

May 17, snack. Some puffed rice crackers. Not really very interesting.

May 17, appetizer. Left-over hummus and chips from a party. Good.

May 17, dinner. Arctic char, outstanding. Grilled asparagus, also great. And couscous with tomato and basil. Still really good. Making your own food fresh is a really good way to go.

May 18, breakfast. The usual.

May 18, snack. Someone (OK, me) bought pretzel rods for a party and they didn't get served. So now I have to eat them. One, by one. No mustard.

May 18, lunch. Leftover ribs. Good.

May 18, lunch. A Pepsi. Really.

May 18, dinner. Started with freshly made strawberry daquiris. Lime juice, strawberries, a bit of triple sec, and rum. All over crushed ice. Very good way to have dinner.

May 18, appetizers. Guacamole from Trader Joe's and crackers. We did not eat the cat. The guacamole from TJs is astonishingly good for a preserved product. Someone has made great strides in the ability to preserve guacamole.

May 18, dinner. Cole slaw, rosemary/garlic grilled potatoes, and brisket. The brisket, unfortunately, was not up to snuff. Tasty, but not moist.

May 18, dessert. Two different kinds of almost identical cake (Barbara) and some ice cream. Way too much food. Could have had NO dessert and been happy.

May 19, breakfast. The usual.

May 19, snack. Two dates. We found a bag of Dateland dates in a closet so these are now back on the menu.

May 19, lunch. Arugula/tuna salad.

May 19, lunch dessert. More dates.
