May 10, breakfast. The usual.

May 10, lunch. Leftover ribs.

May 10, lunch. And two cerignola olives. These are from AJ's. I have not been able to find good Cerignolas elsewhere.

May 10, dinner. Joel's pork ribs.

May 10, snack/dinner: pistachios.

May 10, snacks. Red hot chicharones!

May 10, snack. Fresh strawberries. Big, but still flavorful. We can't get the little tiny flavor bombs here in the US very often. It's a country of Giant Strawberry Fetishists.

May 11, breakfast. The usual

May 11, breakfast. A bit of toast stolen from Jan's plate.

May 11, lunch. Beyond Bread, where they have bread-and-butter for you while you stand in line.

May 11, lunch. An Ashley's Albacore (half) from Beyond Bread

May 11, lunch. A dessert of 1/3 of a "Rustic Apple Pie" from Beyond Bread. Good apple taste, and the crust holds up surprisingly well.

May 11, dinner. Mother's Day dinner for Barbara, started with bruschetta (grilled on the grill and then topped with chopped tomatoes and basil)

May 11, dinner. I made stuffed lamb chops (cut thick by the butcher, and stuffed with a mushroom/truffle mixture), grilled asparagus, and couscous. Because we had two Mother's Day meals, I didn't have time to really go all out so this was lickety split quick. Turned out quite well.

May 11, dessert. Jan's Sticky Toffee Pudding: a from-scratch cake with an immense amount of dates mixed into the batter, covered by a toffee sauce made moments before it was served. Outstanding!

May 12, breakfast. The usual. But early, at 5:30 AM.

May 12th, snack. Pretzels at the Crown Room club in Atlanta

May 12, lunch. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. I had Phish Food (outstanding) and a new seven-layer coconut which was a bit too sweet.

May 12, snack. Cheese and Crackers aboard flight from Atlanta to Toronto.

May 13, breakfast. Coffee, grapefruit juice, and you can't see it but a muffin.

May 13, lunch. "Manhattan" Potato salad (OK), meatballs (inedible), and shaved pastrami with three mustards and saurkraut (nicely done). At the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.

May 13, lunch. Dessert. A gingerbread which was not so good, and a little ball which was fantastic. Soft and chewy inside, very nicely done.

May 13, dinner. Went to Babur with Ajay. This was the appetizer, a mixed plate. Well done.

May 13, dinner. At Babur in Toronto: Bhindi Masala, Navrattan Biryani, and Chicken Vindaloo. Plus some plain naan. Really good, outstanding for non-India Indian food, actually.

May 14, Breakfast. A muffin at the Toronto airport.

May 14, lunch. My flight is two hours late, so they take us off and tell us to get free food. Free food is worth what you paid for it. Possibly the worst ham&cheese sandwich I have ever been offered.

May 14, snack. Aboard flight from Toronto to Atlanta.

May 14, dinner. At Aria, in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta. Starting with a "crispy" buffalo mozzarella, atop prosciutto and asparagus salad.

May 14, dinner. Bread. The staff of life. At Aria, Atlanta.

May 14, dinner. At Aria, Atlanta. Possibly the most disappointing part of my meal. This was pork shoulder atop some greens and grits. All that was good. But that white sauce... I don't know what it was, and it sure didn't go well with the pork. Sorry that the core of the meal wasn't great.
