August 12, dinner. Aboard Alaska Air flight to Tucson. A beer, and the contents of one snack mix baggie.

August 13, breakfast. The usual, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, and an enormous vitamin pill.

August 13, dinner. Antipasto platter. Salsicce, cheese, olives, grilled artichokes. At home, with Jan. Very tasty. I had half of this, not all.

August 14, breakfast. The usual, plus grapefruit juice and a vitamin (with Jan, of course)

August 14, lunch. At Taco Bron, starting with chips, beans, and salsa.

August 14, lunch. At Taco Bron, a Number 1 combination with camarones Gobernador.

August 14, dinner. At North, in Tucson. Some olives with bits of fresh rosemary sticking on. With Jan and Santhosh and Bhagya from Avenda.

August 14, dinner. A "Caprese" salad, North-style, with pretty good cheese and tomatoes, and a lot of bread thrown in to bulk it up.

August 14, dinner. At North with Jan and Santhosh and Bhagya from Avenda. Lamb chops over mashed potatoes. Very nice.

August 15, breakfast. The usual, cappuccino freddo and a fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. Jan's cappuccino and a mango lassi are in the background. That's her breakfast, not mine.

August 15, snack. Some chocolate turtles from Barbara's refrigerator. She should buy baci!

August 15, snack. Ford's Locker Beef Jerkey, the best beef jerkey sold in North America today. "Regular" style.

August 15, dinner. Miso soup at Yuki Sushi with Jan.

August 15, dinner. Appetizer of deep-fried soft-shell crab at Yuki Sushi with Jan. Yum.

August 15, dinner. Cold soba noodles and seafood at Yuki Sushi with Jan. Good. Not many people get cold soba noodles, but I like them a lot.

August 16, breakfast. The usual, plus fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and a horse-sized vitamin pill.

August 16, lunch. At El Pollo Feliz (but I don't think that the chicken is really THAT happy, honestly; it looks a little unhappy right now). I, however, was happy! This is good grilled chicken!

August 16, lunch. At El Pollo Feliz. Salad, too.

August 16, dinner. Fish, beans, potatoes. At Firebirds with Mom and Jan. Fish not so hot. Sea Bass. In fact, it was undercooked and cold. Firebird's continues to disappoint, although Mom likes it.

August 17, breakfast. The usual.

August 17, dinner. Ribs!!! Here is what two racks of ribs look like before cutting...

August 17, dinner. Ribs, slaw, and asparagus. With family. Great!!!

August 17, dessert. Little lemon bar things. Tasty!

August 18, breakfast. The usual.

August 18, lunch. Nico's Burrito (with Jan), chile relleno. As always, tasty!

August 18, dinner. Leftover ribs, leftover cole slaw and ... organic figs from Trader Joe's. Figs in Tucson are usually crap, but these were REALLY good. Not as good as fresh off the tree of course, but still VERY good.

August 18, dessert. Sorbetto di limone.

August 18, post-dessert dessert. Two chocolate turtles that Jan gave me.

August 19, breakfast. The usual.

August 19, snack. Two dates, from Dateland. Dateland, Dateland, Arizona, I'm goin' to Dateland...
