August 26, snack. A white peach.

August 26, dinner. Salad. Left-over green beans, sausage, tomatoes, lettuce, olives.

August 27, breakfast. The usual.

August 27, lunch. At Vega's. A pollo asado burrito. Not as good as Nico's.

August 27, dinner. At Cafè Poca Cosa in Tucson with George N. and Jan. As always an outstanding meal. This was a mole amarillo, on chicken, which was really good. Also rice and beans and the amazingly oversized salad with the unmixed salad dressing.

August 27, dessert. Two Red Stripes at the Hotel Congress bar outside with Jan and George N.

August 28, breakfast. The usual.

August 28, snack. Chicken liver patè made by Christine Olmstead with crackers. Very tasty.

August 28, lunch. At El Saage in Tucson with Jan. Souvlaki plate, with metze and some hummus. The garlic sauce this time was not very strong, not as strong as I like it. But still good overall. I think a tiny step down from the past.

August 28, dinner. At Cocoyaya's in Tucson with everyone. First, chips, of course.

August 28, dinner. Chicken Molè, the very traditional kind. Very good and not oversized. Cocoyaya's in Tucson.

August 29, breakfast. An iced cappuccino from Ike's in the Tucson Airport, on the way to Atlanta. Not good coffee. No surprise, I guess, but they could do better since their midtown location is good. This one is staffed by the lowest wage slaves and has lousy brew.

August 29, breakfast. Aboard Delta flight Tucson to Atlanta. A lot of junk. I ate the fruit.

August 29, snack. In Crown Room lounge in Atlanta. Some crackers and canned hummus (not so good, but the crackers are), bits of meat rolled around cheese. Didn't have time for a proper meal because had a client crisis to handle on-line.

August 29, snack. Nuts on flight out from Atlanta to Rome.

August 29, dinner. Roll. OK. On flight from Atlanta to Rome.

August 29, dinner. On board flight ATL-FCO. A tomato salad (urgh), some shrimp with avocado (good), old dry cut bad vegetables and an indescribably awful dip.

August 29, dessert. Cheese plate. Flight ATL-FCO.

August 30, breakfast. Cappuccino, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a coronetto. At a stand in Rome Airport.

August 30, lunch. Caprese salad, at Colle delle Querce with Jan, Ellen, Carlo. Made with mozarella from Volpetti's in Roma, and fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden.

August 30, lunch. A bit of porchetta from Budelli's stand in Todi, and some aged Manciano pecorino cheese.

August 30, snack. A few fresh figs from the garden at Colle delle Querce, with Jan, Ellen, Carlo.

August 30, dessert. Chocolate ice cream with peperoncino. Tasty, and just barely hot. Almost imperceptible.

August 30, dinner. Some fresh sausage cooked, and a bit of pork rib. Bread. At Colle delle Querce, with Jan, Ellen, Carlo. Carlo cooked.

August 30, dinner. Salad. Fresh tomatoes from the garden, lettuce from the garden, and some arugula.

August 30, dessert. Cooked apples.

August 30, more dessert. All the figs you might want, fresh from the tree. At Colle delle Querce.

August 31, breakfast. Grapefruit juice (organic, but not fresh squeezed), two fresh figs, and a cappuccino. With Jan, at Colle delle Querce

August 31, lunch. Caprese salad (Volpetti's mozzarella di bufala), prosciutto and fresh melone. At Colle delle Querce, with Jan.

August 31, dinner. At Enoteca in Todi. Maile Involtini con Salvia e Formaggio. A bit dry, but very tasty.
