Sept 8, dinner. A glass of Limoncello for dessert. At Pane e Vino. This is one of the nicest restaurants in Todi. Traditional to be sure, but everything is wonderfully done and Fabio (half of the owners) is just a great influence in keeping things interesting. Very very good wine list as well with excellent prices. Highly recommended.

Sept 9, lunch. Leftovers. A beautiful Caprese salad with fresh tomato and basil from the garden. Olives, porchetta, cheeses, sausages. Everything you might want. At Colle delle Querce with the gang.


Sept 9, lunch dessert. A bit of Gorgonzola Mascarpone from Volpetti's spread on bread. Yum.

Sept 9, dinner. At Casa d'Usignolo with hosts Pam and Bill. Jan, Craig, Eileen. Start with some Prosecco and peanuts.


Sept 9, dinner. Appetizer of fresh figs and prosciutto. Pam has great fig trees and she doesn't like figs, which leaves a lot for any of her guests!

Sept 10, lunch. Leftovers. Porchetta, fresh grapes, some gorgonzola and amarone wine, cheese, salad, figs. At Colle delle Querce.

Sept 10, dinner. At Ristorante Cavour in Todi, where they have a beautiful panoramic terrace. Simple traditional appetizer of sliced cheese and meats. With Jan, Eileen and Craig.

Sept 11, breakfast. At Perugia Airport, a cappuccino. Very early in the morning.


Sept 11, second breakfast. Another cappuccino and a cornetto in Milan Malpensa airport.


Sept 11, spuntino. Aboard flight from Milan to Frankfurt. A sandwich of no great note and a rice krispies chocolate bar.


Sept 11, lunch. At Boulevard 262 in Saarbrücken. Some olives. With Jochen Maier. Right on the French/German border, but on the German side.


Sept 11, lunch. A mushroom salad. Cooked Chanterelle mushrooms accompanied by a green salad. Tasty on the mushroom side, but kind-of unimaginative in that the flavors merged together. Could have been more concentrated for the subtle mushroom taste.

Sept 11, dinner. Olives to start at La Frontière (Unnerstrasse 2, Saarbrücken). With Jochen Maier.
