July 12, Breakfast. Espresso, milk, and sugar. A civilized way to start the day at Dollar Lake in the San Gorgonio wilderness.

July 12, lunch. Peapods, hot dog, beef jerkey, some fruit. Post-backpack stuff.

July 12, lunch. Peapods and some puffed corn things. This is not popcorn, but some sort of corn mush which has been aerated and turned into snack food. They call it Pirate's Booty and put cheese on it.

July 12, Lunch. Dessert, an Andes Mint.

July 12, dinner. Some bread, before we were served. At the Green Flash, on the beach in Pacific Beach.

July 12, dinner. Hefeweizen. Ahhhhhh.

July 12, dinner. California halibut, with fries, and miscellaneous random vegetables. The fries were the main recommendation here, but the fish-o-the-day was good as well. Green Flash, Pacific Beach, with Jan, Bruce, Sheryl, Sam, and James.

July 13, breakfast. At Bruce's. Cappuccino. Well done, very well done.

July 13, breakfast. Bacon, and eggs. I cooked 'em. At Bruce & Sheryl's in La Jolla.

July 13, snack. On a Southwest flight home from San Diego to Tucson.

July 13, dinner. Steak, at Barbara's.

July 13, dinner, at Don & Barbara's. Some stuffed zucchini thing from the Price Club. Really unappetizing looking, although tasted fine. I didn't eat all of that---just one spoonful.

Dinner, July 13. Grapes. That's mom in the background. She had grapes to. At Barbara's.

July 13, dessert. No dinner would be complete without multiple desserts. Some lemon bar thingy (not bad) and two kinds of ice cream.

July 14, breakfast. The usual.

July 14, lunch. A Carnitas plate at Nico's. This is something you can (and should) split between two people. It's about 25cents more than two tacos with rice, but you get rice and beans and more stuff. And you don't have to eat the tortilla if you don't feel like it.

July 15, dinner. At Pizzaz Bistro. Not good, not good at all. This is a salad, which is hard to ruin, and they didn't. But the pasta...

July 15, dinner. At Pizzaz Bistro in Tucson. This was supposed to be a pasta dish "Pasta Luigi," but it was just a lot of stuff on a plate. Not surprisingly, successful Mexican restaurant family is not doing well, kitchen-wise, at Italian food.

July 15, lunch. Aboard Delta flight Tucson to Atlanta. You are not supposed to get the "for pay" meals in 1st class, which I don't get, but if you ask nicely and they have extras, they'll give you one. In this case, the cheese & fruit plate was a lot better than whatever it was they were offering, some sort of gluey quesadilla or something.

July 16, breakfast. An iced cappuccino.

July 16, lunch. At the IT Roadmap in Atlanta. Some sort of tuna sandwich thing (not good), an apple (fine, actually nice), chips and a cookie (forgettable). Conference food is not good food. Usually.

July 16, snack. A beer, crackers, and cheese. In the Continental club which somehow I was allowed into because I'm a Delta flyer on a US Air flight. Go figure.

July 16, snack. Some chocolate chip ice cream from the Swensen's in the Atlanta Airport D concourse. No good icecream here, like they have in C concourse.

July 16, dinner. Aboard US Air flight home from Atlanta to Tucson via Phoenix. I took this flight to save Network World about $500. I guess it was worth it. Penne was suprisingly good; chicken not completely destroyed by microwave.

July 17, breakfast. At Raging Sage, Tucson. Iced cappuccino, and an apricot scone. Very nice after two days on the road and crap food.

July 17, lunch. Pollo asado burrito from Nico's. Good.

July 17, dinner. Don and Barbara took me to Rosa's, so I had two carne seca enchiladas. Very tasty.

July 17, dinner. And here are the carne seca enchiladas. At Rosa's in Tucson.

July 18, breakfast. At Raging Sage in Tucson. Excellent iced cappuccino and a currant scone. Very nice.
