November 5, dinner. Salad. At Maggiano's in Chicago with Lee and Joan.

November 5, dinner. Some lasagne at Maggiano's in Chicago with Joan and Lee. This was their 'signature' dish, and had the aspect of a meatloaf, about 8 inches thick. Fundamentally, not bad, but not really anything to write home about other than "geez, this was a big friggin' meatloaf of lasagne."

November 5, dinner. Chicken Parmesan. At Maggiano's. Really undistinguished and not worth writing home about.

November 5, dessert. Tiramisu. Not really Tiramisu, but something resembling. I think they forgot to put in the mascarpone.

November 5, dessert. I didn't have all this ice cream, just one scoop.

November 5, dessert. I had a mint. That was good.

November 6, breakfast. A half of a bagel with cream cheese and a Starbucks' cappuccino. At ISD in Chicago. The bagel was toasted, which was not bad.

November 6, lunch. At O'Hare airport, in the Wolfgang Puck-e-teria. A pizza, small, moderately tasty. Expensive. By myself, although I was on the phone for most of it with Mark Basinski.

November 6, dinner. O'Hare airport. Got stuck here for a long time, so went to the club and had some really really really bad cheese, olives, and crackers. Thanks, Delta.

November 7, breakfast. The usual.

November 7, snack. Some outstanding Sardinian pecorino cheese. Wow.

November 7, lunch. At Taco Bron, which has a new name. Chips. With Jan.

November 7, lunch. At Taco Bron. With Jan. 3 shrimp tacos. I didn't ask for them "Gobernador," so they came just as normal shrimp tacos. These were good too, although I like the Gobernador better.

November 7, snack. Jan cut me some nice pecorino to hold me over until dinner.

November 7, dinner. At Sher-e-Punjab, one of Tucson's best Indian restaurants. With Rose and Mark and Jan. This plate has okra and a lamb biryani (plus white rice). Very very good.

November 7, dinner. At Sher-e-Punjab with Jan, Rose, and Mark. Tandoori Chicken.

November 7, dinner. Some mango pickle. Yum!!!

November 8, breakfast. The usual, and a slice out of a tortilla I made. The tortilla was not very well constructed, but this is my first try in ten years or more. So it wasn't bad. And although the construction was weak, the tortilla tasted great anyway.

November 8, lunch. At home, take-out Number 12 (Carnitas plate, with rice and beans) from Nico's.

November 11, lunch. And a Coke.

November 8, snack. Some little chocolates leftover from Halloween.

November 8, dinner. Salad. Jan's greens, plus sausage and artichokes, pepitas, other stuff. With Jan at home.

November 9, breakfast. The usual and a glass of fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, plus a vitamin.

November 9, lunch. Salad from the garden, Cento-brand tuna. At home with Jan.

November 9, dinner. At Don and Barbara's. Swiss Steak, noodles with some sauce, and sauteed vegetables. I made the vegetables. Everything was good. With Jan, Dale, Don, Barbara.

November 9, dessert. Some spice cake Barbara made. Good.

November 10, breakfast. The usual.

November 10, lunch. Salad at home with Jan. Greens from her garden, red pepper from the garden, some cheese and salami.

November 10, snack. Two dates. Not especially wonderful ones. But dates nonetheless.

November 10, dinner. I whipped up some Bucatini all'Amatriciana at home. Pancetta from the freezer, fresh-made tomato sauce and lots of cheese. This was "Lucio Style," which means that the pancetta is crisped separately before being mixed in.
